Raving About Quickliner for Eyes Intense by Clinique

I am a makeup lover. I buy makeup like some women buy shoes, handbags or clothes. I love to try different products, and like most women, I have a collection of products that aren't fully used, and sitting in a drawer. However, there is one product that I always use until it runs out.

My favorite eyeliner is the Quickliner for Eyes Intense by Clinique. It gets used up to the last itty bitty bit.

If you are a makeup junkie too, how many eyeliners do you have right now? How many different brands? Different colors? Do you even know? I have 3.
Drugstore brand X in black.
Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in New Black.
Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense in Plum.

Store brand X I don't even know why I still have it. It tugs on your eye lid, and is actually painful to use. So I don't. But there it sits in the drawer; I hate to throw it out because it is newish - I've only used it 2 times.

Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in New Black is my emergency backup. This is the eyeliner I used until the Intense version came out. It is a good eyeliner, I used it for a long time, but once I tried the Intense version, it became my favorite instantly.

Why is Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense so special? There are many reasons this is my absolute favorite.

First, it has great color. I use plum to help make my hazel eyes pop a bit more. The plum is NOT purple, and I love that. It is subtle, but definitely not black. I am too old to wear purple eyeliner to work, and this plum is the perfect solution to not have heavy black liner. One end of the pencil has a gently pointed sponge to smudge if you want a smokey look. Seven colors are currently available.

This is a no-sharpen product. You just twist the top to expose more pencil.

Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense goes on smoothly - NO tugging at your eyelid! I have found this is also a plus in faster application, cutting time from my morning routine.

It lasts! It lasts all day, and I have not had any problem with smudging under my eyes after a long day at work, and it washes off easily with facial cleanser.

I use makeup everyday, except the rare weekend day where I give my face a rest from makeup if we are not going out. That said,  Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense lasts me 3 months of virtually daily use.

For those who have sensitive skin and eyes like me, this product has not irritated my eyes or eyelids at all. Of course, everyone is different, and if you have sensitive skin or eyes, you will have to experiment for yourself. Clinique does have a satisfaction guarantee - you can return any unused portion for a refund.

Current price at the time of this post is $15.00.

Have you tried Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense? What color are you using? The next color I plan to try is Intense Chocolate. Let me know what you think of the product, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments section.

Raving About the Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean

The Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean is one cleaning item I cannot do without. From removing finger prints to removing scruffs on the floor, the Magic Eraser does it all.

With a Magic Eraser, you can easily remove soap scum in bathtubs, pawprints from animals, clean walls, and a wide variety of other tough dirt in no time, and with minimal effort. The one place I really love the Magic Eraser is for cleaning the vinyl upholstery on our boat. When the boat comes out of winter storage, I use the Magic Eraser and a spray cleaner to scrub all of the vinyl upholstery. I wipe down the upholstery, then I use a marine grade sun protectant on the upholstery. This has kept our upholstery looking brand-new for the past three years. If you enjoy fishing on your boat, the Magic Eraser easily gets the blood from the fish off of the upholstery. We have even used the Magic Eraser to get docking scuffs off of the side of the boat's hull. I have given two other boaters at our marina Magic Erasers to use on their upholstery after they asked how we keep ours in such great shape.

Personally, I preferred the original Magic Eraser because it is thicker and seems to last longer. I have also tried the magic eraser that comes as a floor mop on our kitchen floor. It did a great job getting the scuffs off the floor with minimal effort. If you have cats, like we do, and your cats like to jump onto window sills and leave paw prints on your wall below the window, the Magic Eraser is a great way to get the wall looking just painted.

We had just completed a bathroom remodel, then decided to put in new windows. The contractor put marks on the wall and on the vinyl shower curtain (I don't know how they managed to do so) but the Magic Eraser worked like a charm, and my new bathroom looked brand-new once again.

If you have used the Magic Eraser, and have found a unique use for it, please leave a comment below so others can find other uses for this great product.

Raving About the Craftsman Lawn Tractor

Actually, it has been my husband raving about it since the first time he used it. I have to say I looked at him in disbelief when he said he wished it would stop raining so he could cut the lawn with his new tractor, but it's true!

I can't do the tractor justice, except to say that it is a nice looking machine, and does a nice job cutting the lawn. That being said, the best way to let you know how well the Craftsman YT-4000 Tractor performs is best left to my husband, who did a YouTube video to give others a look at the tractor, and provide a review.

Here is his video:

Who would think arm rests would make a man so happy? The optional arm rests have increased his comfort, and were an easy install.

If you have any questions about the tractor, lease feel free to leave a comment below.

Raving about the Roomba by iRobot

LOVE the Roomba! We've had three different Roombas by iRobot. As technology progressed, so has their product, adding new features as their product evolved. Each addition to their product has improved it in some way, to make it either more user friendly, or to improve its cleaning ability.

The Roomba features scheduled cleaning times that you can program for the days and times you wish to have it clean. I set it to clean when I am not home. Setting it to go off daily keeps the floors clean and dust free, with minimal effort by me. The owner effort involved includes maintaining the brushes by keeping them free of hair and animal fur, cleaning the dust bin, cleaning the dust sensors, and the air filter. That may seem like a long list, but it isn't daily maintenance and can be done when the Roomba tells you to do so. You will want to check your Roomba every few days to see what maintenance it requires. It will take you far less time than it would to take you to vacuum the entire house or floor you have it set to clean.

To me, the purpose of the Roomba is to clean the floors while you clean/dust the rest of the house. Be warned! The Roomba is mesmerizing when you first get it! I spent a lot of time watching the Roomba when we first got it, enthralled by the job it was doing, rather than dusting or cleaning the kitchen. It took a while to get the full time-saving benefit from it, but that is just me. Also a good reason to schedule cleaning while you are at work or out shopping.

Loving our Roomba so much, I got it for my father and stepmother for Christmas. I was hard pressed to think of a gift that they didn't already have and that was useful, and thought the Roomba was a perfect way to make their lives easier. My father is getting on on years, and I worried about him lugging a vacuum up and down stairs. I got the Roomba for his basement entertaining room, figuring he could use it strictly in that area where they do a lot of entertaining.

Not tech savvy, I think my father thought it was just a gadget his computer geek daughter sent. I know my stepmother felt that way. After they saw it work - and yes, they watched it mesmerized! - it was no longer a gadget but a welcomed relief from the vacuum they had to use and carry up and down the steps. Mission accomplished! My father would call me with stories about having to crumble pretzels on the floor to demonstrate it to guests who were curious about how well it worked, or when his paper delivery person walked in the house when they saw it working through the door and said, "I have to get one of those!" One thing both my father and I noticed was that if you run it after you have used the vacuum, it will still find dust and dirt the vacuum missed, making the floors feel cleaner if you are walking in bare feet. Most importantly, it helped make his life easier. That was worth every penny when you are not nearby to help your parents out on a regular basis.

Welcome to The Rave!

Welcome! Seems to me society has turned into a sea of complainers. Make that an ocean. It is priceless to me to tell a waitress, clerk or co-worker when they are doing a good job, because their face will just glow afterwards. The same goes for big corporations. Everyone appreciates some positive reinforcement when they are putting forth a sincere effort to produce a quality service or product. I think people are so conditioned to hear negative feedback, that the positive feedback is a shock. Isn't that a shame?

Have you searched online for reviews of products only to be met with cranky posts that pick a product or service apart to shreds? Have you ever not bought a product online because 2 out of 50 comments are negative? Or if you did buy the product despite the 2 negative comments, and had a great experience, did you think back to the negative reviews and wonder if they bought the same product or used the same company? I have. I think positive reviews also have a place in the vast internet, and this is my little corner of the web to inform people of good services and products I have personally bought and/or used.

I know that these reviews are just my opinion, and your experience may be different than mine. By all means, after you have read the cantankerous reviews, hopefully you land here and find something good. You may even discover something you'll love just as much, and if you do, please leave me a comment. I do welcome contrary comments, as long as they are respectful either to myself or other commenters. I understand every company has humans, and humans are not infallible. Errors can and are made. But when they have performed as expected, or beyond our expectations, praise is in order.

Give one person or store owner a compliment in the next week who truly deserves it, and watch their reaction. Post about here!
